Since 2021-2022, the Ensemble C Barré has joined forces with the Busserine primary schools to create a school orchestra that it will accompany for a three-year cycle, in close association with local structures such as LE ZEF – Marseille’s national stage, the Espace Culturel Busserine and the Pythéas high school.

This project consists of developing instrumental and vocal practice over the long term by combining workshops in collective practice, improvisation, invention and participation in concerts as part of the Ensemble C Barré’s annual programme.

For the first year, four pieces composed by Thomas Keck were transmitted to the choirs and the orchestra of La Busserine and given to the public to hear, each of them featuring an instrument of this atypical formation in the colours of C Barré.

For this second year of practice, small pieces written by the composer Alexandros Markeas, inspired by popular Greek songs, were created.

In partnership with City of Marseille, Busserine primary schools, Collège Pythéas, Flamants primary school, LE ZEF – scène nationale de Marseille, Espace Culturel Busserine and association Orchestre à l’école.
With the support of City of Marseille, Logirem Foundation, Sacem, Cité éducative M14, Orchestre à l’école association as part of the call for projects “One artist, one orchestra”, Société Générale foundation C’est vous l’avenir, Orange Foundation.
