Born in 1985 in Paris, Aurélien Maestracci studied first the violin and then the viola before starting to compose with Roger Tessier at the Chartres music school (1996-2002). He continues his training with Jean-Luc Hervé at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt (2008-2011).

Since 2008, he has been studying music culture (Analysis, Aesthetics) and, since 2011, composition and orchestration at the CNSMDP in the classes of Frédéric Durieux and Marc-André Dalbavie. During the year 2013-2014, he studied with Brice Pauset at the Musikhochschule Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany.
