Born in 1990, Damien Bonnec began composing during his early years of musical training at the Regional Conservatory of Rennes. He was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where he studied under Gérard Pesson, Michaël Levinas, Luis Naon and Denis Cohen. Participating in various academies and masterclasses (Mixtur, Manifeste, reMusik), he benefits from the views of composers such as Raphaël Cendo, Stefano Gervasoni, Rebecca Saunders and Sergej Newski. He has collaborated with the Ensemble C barré, the saxhorn quartet Eclat, the European chamber music association Proquartet and the soloist Marie-Claudine Papadopoulos. His music, willingly formalist, likes to use different graphic or scenic devices. He also has a doctorate in musicology and has developed a thesis studying the aesthetic relationship between Pierre Boulez and Stéphane Mallarmé.
