Médéric Debacq

Médéric is a graduate of the CRR of Lille in bassoon, harpsichord, chamber music, early music and writing.

In 2003, he was admitted to the CNSMD in Paris in Marc Trenel's class and in 2007 won a prize for German bassoon and chamber music while continuing to enrich his training with the practice of baroque bassoon and Gregorian chant. He then joined the concert woodworking improvement cycle in the classes of Gilbert Audin and Lionel Bord before performing a Master Orchestra at the HEM in Geneva in 2010 with Alfonso Venturieri.

Médéric will have the opportunity to play regularly as a soloist (Mozart bassoon concerto with the CRR orchestra of Lille, Pleyel concertante with the Orchestre des Lauréats du CNSMD, etc.) and to record in 2008 Hummel's Grand Concerto for bassoon with orchestra.

In parallel with these studies, he obtained a position as a bassoonist in the Mobile Gendarmerie Orchestra in 2005, and played as principal bassoon in 2012 with the Ulster Orchestra (Northern Ireland). He also often performs with the most prestigious ensembles such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de Paris, the Opéra National de Paris, the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, etc... under the baton of the greatest conductors.

Médéric is fully committed to the creation and dissemination of contemporary repertoire. He is a member of the Multilateral Ensemble, Ensemble C Barré and works with Ensemble Cairn and Musicatreize. He is also co-creator of the company Espace Public, which brings together dancers, musicians and actors to share and mediate with a variety of audiences.

Passionate about teaching, which feeds his career as an interpreter on a daily basis, he is currently in training to become a teacher at the CNSMD in Lyon and teaches at the CRD in Bourg-la-Reine/Sceaux.
